Cross the halfway mark, into the Premiership Quarter, sorting the chaff from the wheat, got the talk from the coach and we’re ready to go…
Stripped back and straight up and down this week, it’s a pretty open tune, just piano and acoustic. It’s another co-write with Chooka Iles; he’s got a great way of cutting through the crap and getting to the heart of the matter which is a nice foil for the likes of me!
I’ve taken you all on a bit of a journey over the past few weeks, so thanks for sticking with me. A few of the songs have challenged some of you, which is fair enough. They’ve challenged me as well, if that’s any consolation. So what to say about this week? It’s probably a lot of things the past three weeks haven’t been and maybe a few things the last few weeks needed to be… So be it.
See you next week!
Lyrics:
Crawling through the fog, just to get back home
Travelling in the dark, so I won’t feel so alone
And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to get right back to you
And there’s nothing I won’t do to get back to you
You watched us all set sail, across the murky sea
I’ve been standing in the dark, like a beggar on the street
And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to get right back to you
And there’s nothing I won’t do to get back to you
And I said a million things I could never take away
I passed a lot of good advice as I sailed out from the bay
And you stood on the shore, knowing all the while
That we were meant to be, candles burning bright
And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to get right back to you
And there’s nothing I won’t do to get back to you
And now that I am home, I know just what to do,
Take a look inside my self and never sell the truth
And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to get right back to you
And there’s nothing I won’t do to get back to you

Dave a nice Touch to an important lyric to me .. We as men just want to provide , love, live and cherish what is dear to us …. Hold on to it … Never let it go …. And show the world that we are happy with our partner….. And even the best shit or spin thrown at us will never ever shake the foundation of what this relationship is built on ….. Sorry I ramble but it’s true ….. Chooka out
Yep spot on Chooka! Enjoy your weekend away bro…
Hi Dave, this latest seems to be something that is either a retrospective from a past love encounter, or some thing that you are dealing with now. I know there was a co writer but either way I like it. Simplicity is great!
Spot on Al, stuff from the past brought into the present with a bit of perspective!
